Sweater Weather: Layering

There is nothing better, and more comforting, than the feeling of pulling on a cozy sweater, and there a plenty of options out there to keep you warm this season. However, how do you keep yourself warm while layering, without losing a flattering silhouette? The answer: Make your layers progressively thicker, and add shape.

A thin cardigan, such as this one, would be a perfect layer to start with. It's thin, warm, and would allow for other pieces to go on top.

Next could be outerwear, such as a blazer, coat, or jacket. Depending on the look you are going for, you could choose any of them. Below are some examples...

The jacket in this picture would be perfect because it is basic, tailored nicely, and paired with the belt, defines the waist.

The bright yet classic color makes this blazer special, and the shape makes it flattering and suitable for layering.

This coat is great because it is tailored, and yet again has a belt at the waist to help define, despite the fact that it is a heavier piece.

How will you be staying warm this fall?
