Fall for Texture

Even though summer is great with all of its warm weather and sunny skies, there is something truly wonderful about fall, especially being able to experiment with layers and decadent textures. Designers must love this too, because we have noticed that a bunch of them have been playing with the texture of the materials they're working with, and have been creating wearable works of art that remind us of the Renaissance and royalty.

This trend has been "reborn" (pun intended) from something of the past, thanks to more modern cuts and silhouettes with impeccable tailoring. That said, you don't have to worry about looking like you are wearing a period accurate costume or drapery, even though the fabric and detailing is something from an old tapestry, gilded frame, or vase.

If you still want to look fabulously regal without having to worry about looking like decor, you can look to another popular fabric for fall, velvet.

Soft to the touch, and with a subtle sheen from afar, it is sumptuous and easier to wear with poise. You can choose to wear it in a dress, or even in a coat, which is bound to bump up any outfit and keep you warm on a night out.

The runways are calling for more than our everyday cotton, and we are ready to embrace this challenge. We know you have an inner fashionista in you too, so join us in trying out this new trend!
